Since the club’s inception 26 years ago, it has been a core principle to support a worthy cause. After seeing the effects of fire and burns on a daily basis, the SAMFS World Police & Fire Games Club members chose to support the Paediatric Burns Service at the Women's and Children's Hospital.

Originally, the club directly purchased vital medical equipment for the Burns Service, which included a dermatome machine, a skin graft machine, special beds, and a specialised shower trolley. The sale of the South Australian Firefighters Calendar has raised in excess of $420,000 which has been donated to the hospital over the past 25 years.

In 2015 the club affiliated with TeamKids, the fundraising platform for the Women's and Children's Hospital. Our recent contribution of $46,000 presented at the TeamKids Easter Appeal has enabled the Hospital to purchase a Lumines Ultra Pulse Laser. This will revolutionise treatment for burns patients and provide ground-breaking new treatment for scars, improving accuracy, lessening thermal damage and decreasing operative time for kids.

The mutually beneficial relationship between these two organisations gives our members impetus for fundraising and a mechanism to give back to the South Australian community.

TeamKids have provided more than $30 million to the WCH over the past ten years, and are committed to ensuring that mums, children and their families have access to the very best in medical care, hospital facilities and support services at a time when they need it most.

The Women's & Children's Hospital Foundation aims to raise a further $40 million over the next 10 years through our annual TeamKids Beyond Bank Easter Appeal and other initiatives.

The Hospital holds a very special place in the hearts of almost every South Australian family, and your purchase will help save and change the lives of our SA kids and their families.
